Michelle Loi Speech Pathology Services provides family centred, evidence-based, and effective assessment and therapy to children to facilitate the development and improvement of:

Understanding and use of language, including their vocabulary, use of sentences, and grammatical forms.

Reading and writing skills, including decoding, reading comprehension, spelling, and communicating ideas and messages in written form.

Ability to use language for a range of purposes.

Social skills including using language to interact with communication partners and build meaningful relationships.

Ability to produce speech sounds correctly and using the correct sounds to make meaningful words.

Fluency, that is, stuttering whereby there are interruptions in the flow of speech.

Assessment
This involves a comprehensive evaluation of the child's communication skills. The assessment involves gathering information from communication partners, formal and informal assessment of communication skills, and observations. The assessment helps identify areas of difficulty and provides a basis for planning intervention.
Parent Education & Support
Parents play an important role in their child's progress, and providing them with the knowledge and tools to support their children is vital to enhancing communica Parent education involves helping caregivers to understand their children's communication skills and needs, and to provide parents with strategies to use at home to support their children's progress in therapy. Parents are also supported in accessing different services as required and recommended.
Mobile Supports
Michelle Loi Speech Pathology Services are provided across different settings including the home, school, and/or preschool/daycare.
Therapy
Therapy involves use of evidence-based intervention and strategies to improve the child's communication skills, specifically the identified areas of need.
Collaboration with Schools & Professionals
Collaboration with schools and other professionals involved in the child's care is important to ensure each child receives holistic care that is consistent across settings, and facilitates better outcomes. This ensures comprehensive understanding across all professionals regarding the child's overall development and needs, awareness of the child's goals across professions, and supports planning of intervention as a team.
